untitled poem

Little girl lost in the woods there is no one left to find you.
No one left to notice you’re gone.
You drifted off alone following crumbs of a dream long wished for,
Only to find thorns that scratch and rend the skin.

Little girl lost in the woods, darkness enfolds you.
The noises of words unspoken fill the air.
Monsters in the dark chasing your path, you run.
Till your feet are bloody and numb.

Little girl lost you lay down and wait.
The musty smell of rotting leaves surrounds you.
Hope is found with the light of day,
You pray it’s not too late.
